Labor Day Weekend….with MOM!!

Labor Day Weekend….with MOM!!

Mom came for a visit; got on a plane and came to see me for the weekend 🙂 She flew in on Friday afternoon. I went and picked her up, we stopped for a beer and snacks and then came back to where I’m staying. We decided to keep it simple and go out for supper (she was at MSP at 3:00 AM central) and then get some rest for a fun-filled Saturday. Saturday. We didn’t have an agenda, so…

TN Aquarium :)

TN Aquarium :)

If anyone knows how to do an aquarium, it’s Tennessee. I’ve never been to a multi-building & level aquarium. There are two buildings; building #1: River Journey building. This building shows river life on a whole new scale! SO many different fish and other ‘river’ life. They introduced me to river life from all over the world – so amazing. One thing I need to say….after seeing the SIZE of some of these creatures, it’s a good reason to stay…

Imagination

Imagination

For those that don’t know, I LOVE to read. I read almost every day; and when I read, it’s usually for like 4 or 5 hours. It’s like an addiction for me – love it. A friend of mine told me about a book called “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. It’s a short novella, I read it after work in less than 2 hours, about a pilot who crashes in the desert and wakes to the voice of…

International Dog Day!!

International Dog Day!!

Dogs….Furbabies…..4-legged friends……furry friends…..whatever you call them! It’s a day to celebrate them and all that they do for their hoomans! Peaches is the one who is mostly gray (10 yrs old) and yes, she naps A LOT…..we call her grandma (kinda like Chey Chey…lol!) Oreo is the Ausshole (Aussie) and is 9 yrs old….he naps some, but he’s SUPER ‘on-the-go’ (kinda like Dom…lol!) Love them both immensely and am grateful to have them in my life 🙂

Monday, August 22, 2022

First full day in Chattanooga! After work, I decided to go out for supper; thanks to Google, I found an Italian restaraunt with a gluten free menu. Not knowing my way around, ’cause of course I’ve never been here, I ended up taking a marvelous wrong turn that lead me to some majestic views of Chattanooga….. Ok, back to supper…..well, I found Tony’s and next had to find a parking spot…..lol. Streets are cobbelstone, no signs anywhere, just ended up…

Saturday-Sunday, August 20-21, 2022

I left for Chattanooga, TN on Saturday, August 20. I drove about 9.5-10 hrs to Paducah, KY to crash for the night. It was a really nice hotel that allowed dogs, at NO extra charge! So my furbabies had their first ever stay in a hotel 🙂 They loved it and did excellent! We left Paducah, KY around 9ish to head to Chattanooga, TN. It’s roughly a 4.5 hr drive, so not too bad. It was such a beautiful drive…

Goin’ back a bit…..

Goin’ back a bit…..

I haven’t written in a couple of weeks. After my stay in Kentucky, I went back to Minnesota for a friends wedding and to move Dominic to college. Nothing of note happened, a little dog drama (nothin’ surprising there!), lots of beer and Captain drank and a flood of tears. All to be expected, in a manner of speaking. Two things that stand out in my mind 1) Wedding: I remember seeing the way the Groom looked at the Bride…

Tuesday & it’s NOT terrible….

Tuesday & it’s NOT terrible….

I love poetry and quotes. They often times touch my soul, like way deep down and create many different emotions. Came across this gem today………. I tried for the longest time to fit in, trying to blend in with everyone else….The thing is, it didn’t take.No matter how much I followed the crowd and did my best to be like the rest….I was still different.I’m thankful for that.I was never meant to be just another copy of everyone else….I am…

“Terrible” Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022

Happy Terrible Tuesday – uggg. Never seems to disappoint; but as a friend once told me, “It’s only terrible because you call it that.” I suppose there is some truth to that, but it got it’s name for shitty things ALWAYS happening! Whether it be work or personal (but it did start at work…) always something. As you know I have two fur babies. Oreo, is a 9yr old purebred Black Tri Austrialian Shepherd and always at 100 mph, no…

Saturday, July 22, 2022 (Part 2)

After an amazing lunch I took a drive. There’s a pennisula in Kentucky that dips into Tennesse called Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. As you can see, there’s a lot to explore. I chose the see the Great Western Iron Furnace first. I had no idea about iron furnaces or that iron was even a thing in this part of the country; super interesting and just another great thing to learn about our amazing country. It was wondrous…
